Cedar Forest Grist Mill

Cedar Forest Grist Mill is one of the oldest operating grist mills in the state of Virginia. The mill, located on Straightstone Creek, is estimated to be from the 1880s.

Ned Lunsford purchased the mill in 1977 and restored the mill into an operating one. He spent nearly two years getting the mill on the line and learning the trade.

Although the water wheel doesn't work, the mill (powered by electricity) operates on a regular schedule. Visitors are able to purchase flour and cornmeal.
