1813 Clerk's Office

1813 Clerk's Office

The Pittsylvania Historical Society will host a scale model exhibit of "HOMES, BARNS, MILLS and STILLS" in the 1813 Clerk's Office, behind Town Hall, Chatham Virginia, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Saturday during the months of February and March. These models are from the archives of the Society and have never been on display together. This exhibit is open to the public and is free to all.

The Historical Society is presenting this exhibit for your enjoyment and education with the hope some others will pursue crafting of models of historic homes, businesses or other interesting places.

We feel this is an affordable way to preserve history rather than trying to restore and maintain the actual structure over a long period of time at enormous expense.

Also while in town visiting the 1813 Museum, please visit the restored 1918 Train Depot, the Simpson Funeral Museum, Reid Street Gallery, Competition Alley as well as the entire historic Town of Chatham.
